The Voices of SCREE podcast now available!

The best part of participating in SCREE was the conversations we had on the river. With such a diverse group of participants and their wide ranging expertise, we really tackled the issues of the Colorado river watershed from all angles.  Thanks to the diligence of Tom Minckley, you can find your way to our campfires and listen in to these conversations on The Voices of SCREE podcasts. The voice of yours truly can be found on the episodes recorded on June 30 and July 4. Tune in!

Lunch time lecture and exhibition tour

Come and join me for a lunch, lecture and exhibition tour!

Art and Science, historical siblings, have drifted apart over the course of the last two centuries. Only recently have they begun to reunite, as specialists from each discipline have found that together they have a more powerful voice that they do separately. Erika Osborne will be discussing the recent collaboration between art and science as it relates specifically to environmental concerns in this lunchtime lecture.

Arts Programming for the Anthropocene: Art in Community and Environment is available now!

I am so excited to announce that Arts Programming for the Anthropocene: Art in Community and Environment is available now from Routledge Press! I have worked on this book project for the past few years as a contributing author and as the books illustrator.  The book charts the paths of five field-based arts programs in the U.S., Europe and Australia, making a case for a shift in current arts education pedagogy to a more community-based and environmentally-focused model.

News from Lynden Residency…

Excited to be in Day 3 of a residency at the Lynden Sculpture Garden in Milwaukee! Thanks to Joseph Mougel and Cynthia Brinich-Langlois (and baby Yvette!) for arranging it for us!

Water keeps leaking into my brain (pun intended). The work I create here over the next couple of years (I’ll be traveling back and forth) will most likely be consumed by it.

Cultural Extraction – Energy in the Humanities

Very excited to team-teach a course with Lynn Badia on the intersection of energy and culture. Thanks to the College of Liberal Arts for starting this team teaching initiative and for letting us have the first run at it! If you know of any CSU students who might be interested, please pass on the info, registration for the fall is happening now!
