Given/Take was a collaborative exhibition I organized with the LAND/An Art Site. The LAND/An Art Site is a 40-acre, open-air exhibition and residency space near Mountain Air, New Mexico. For Given/Take, the LAND solicited proposals for projects that could be created onsite. However, it was required that all proposals submitted come from people who had never been to New Mexico.
The proposal chosen was written in the form of a poem. The LAND asked me to organize a group of artists living in New Mexico to realize the proposal onsite. We spent two weeks onsite, creating a wide range of pieces. The resulting works are my contributions to the project.
